Game update: Liriano lights up the Yard (UPDATED) - Baltimore Sun (blog)
Apr 7th 2012, 23:36

Twins pitcher Francisco Liriano wasted no time showing his stuff on Saturday night at Oriole Park. He overpowered the top of the Orioles lineup in the first inning, striking out Nolan Reimold, J.J. Hardy and Nick Markakis. Reimold was the only one of the three to even foul a ball off.

Orioles starter Tommy Hunter has held the Twins scoreless for two innings, but has given up three ground ball singles -- only one of which got out of the infield.

Liriano wasn't quite so overpowering in the second inning. Adam Jones led off the inning with his first home run of the season, an opposite-field fly ball that landed on top of the grounds crew shed and bounded into the stands.
