Sunderland 0 Tottenham 0. We end goalless at the Stadium of Light. In truth, neither side offered enough to take all three points. A disappointing encounter that won't live long in the memory.
90+5 Spurs continue to fire the ball into the Sunderland box. Everyone back for Sunderland as they battle bravely to wrap up a point. They have worked so hard all afternoon.
90+4 Modric floats the free-kick forward, but Kilgallon glances clear. Corner to Spurs. Modric trudges across to take. His delivery is headed clear.
90+3 Modric hammers the ball back to Mignolet. Probably the most dangerous effort he has had to deal with all game. Bale, meanwhile, has wandered back on. Vaughan is then booked for a trip on Lennon.
90+2 Bale hobbles off. Spurs may have to finish the game with 10 men. Bale takes an age making his way from the field. Finally play continues with a drop ball in midfield - not sure why.
90+1 Bale was caught by Gardner's follow through and has stayed down. Gardner did go in two-footed, but his feet never left the ground and he took the ball cleanly enough.
Three minutes of stoppage time to be played.
90 Spurs pull everyone back for the free-kick. Larsson, eventually, whips the ball into the area, where Gallas rises to clear. Spurs suddenly spring clear with Bale racing into space. Gardner puts in a brilliant challenge to stop him in his tracks.
89 Assou-Ekotto now booked. Sessegnon does well to get his body across the ball and the Spurs full-back has little option but to drag him down.
88 Larsson is booked for diving. He shapes to shoot on the edge of the box, before slipping past Kaboul. He tumbles over an outstretched leg and did appear to be touched.
87 Lennon with a burst down the Spurs right. He has three defenders in his face and can't force a cross through them or over them. Spurs frustrated again.
86 Bendtner makes a dart to the front post and is adjudged to have got the final touch as the ball loops wide. Spurs in a rush to get the ball back into play.
85 Larsson whips the ball in towards the target, with Friedel unable to move off his line. Kaboul nods behind from in front of his own goal.
84 Great touch from Bendtner into the path of McClean. He has Walker troubled again and the Spurs full-back dives into a challenge. Free-kick to Sunderland in a dangerous position wide on their left.
83 Finally Defore enters proceedings, with Van der Vaart the man to make way.
82 Terrible pass from Walker straight to Richardson. He hangs his head, and well he might. He does, however, get back into position quickly and McClean is unable to make him pay for his mistake.
81 Spurs are ready to bring on Defoe, who has been ready for ages. Modric takes a knock, delaying the change. Defoe not happy as his entrance is again pushed back. Modric is okay to continue.
80 Bardsley, who inherited the armband from Cattermole and has now had to pass it on to Turner, is replaced by Richardson.
79 Gardner barges into Modric. Free-kick to Spurs. Modric ran into the Sunderland man, but his path was blocked. Van der Vaart hangs the set-piece up high, but Kaboul can't connect.
78 Second change for Spurs sees Saha replace Adebayor. As he enters the field, Bendtner nods straight at Friedel.
77 Larsson's corner is nodded clear and then seen to safety by Assou-Ekotto. He hammers long again, but the ball comes straight back at Spurs. Sessegnon skips past Modric and comes agonisingly close to finding Bendtner.
76 Cattermole won't be able to finish the game and he is replaced by Vaughan.
76 Bendtner moves out to the right. He hands a cross into the middle of the box, where he would like to be, but Walker is able to clear unchallenged. Walker is then forced to concede a corner.
75 McClean shrugged off the ball by Parker. Spurs again let themselves down with a long ball. This time Adebayor is given no chance after drifitn out wide to the left.
74 Turner was the man in the right place for Sunderland. Van der Vaart's effort may have been drifting wide anyway. He appealed for handball, more out of hope than expectation. Lennon did well in the build-up to the chance.
73 Great ball down the line from Walker into Lennon. He can't bring it out of the air and into his path, though, and Kilgallon comes across to see out the danger. Finally, a sight of goal. Van der Vaart slips through the Sunderland defence, only to see a dinked effort hacked clear.
72 Cattermole is down and requires treatment. He is limping slightly as he makes his way off the field, but should be okay to continue.
71 Bardsley prepared to push forward again down the right flank. He looks to cross early, but slices his delivery badly and it sails out of play before McClean can reach it.
70 Mignolet keeps his eyes on the ball as he backtracks to pluck a Walker cross out of the air. Good hands as he clings onto the ball when tumbling to the turf. Spurs had three men snifing around for scraps.
69 Spurs seem to have no idea how to break Sunderland down. They knock the ball around a bit, and then hammer it long. They need to either get it wide or send it early over the top. Sunderland look comfortable.
68 Tackles still flying in. Van der Vaart not happy with one by Bardsley. Frustratinf afternoon all round at the moment. Sunderland still happy to sit back and soak up any Spurs pressure.
67 Bendtner with a run in behind Gallas, but the Spurs defender cuts out a long pass down the left. Bardsley then cuts inside from the right, but is halted by Modric.
66 O'Neill trying to get his message across on the sidelines. He is a bundle of energy as ever. On the field, Lennon's first touch sees him dink over a cross that is nodded clear by Turner.
65 Sandro makes way for Lennon. Attacking change from Spurs.
64 Modric brushes off Bardsley and moves into the box. He can't pick out a team-mate from the by-line. Both sides then give the ball away needlessly in midfield.
63 From the free-kick, Sunderland go long and see the ball run through to Friedel. Changes needed. The game needs someone to lift it. Sessegnon tries as he dances forward, but his final ball fails to find Bendtner.
62 First card of the afternoon is shown to Sandro. He dived in on Kilgallon and can have no complaints.
61 Larsson's delivery is too long and floats over the heads of those in the middle. Sunderland have been unable to make the most of their set-pieces this afternoon. The Black Cats do work Friedel from distance as Bardsley stings his fingers with an effort from 25 yards.
60 Great cross from Larsson, even better defending from Walker. He had to beat McClean to the ball, and he did to flick it behind. Yet another corner to Sunderland.
59 Walker wastes no time firing over a cross, but the ball dips onto the foot of Turner. Spurs try again from the other side. Assou-Ekotto picks out Bale, but he sees a header loop onto the roof of the net.
58 Adebayor with a clear sight of goal, but he volleys over the top after being picked out by a brilliant ball from Van der Vaart. Bale then runs at Bardsley, and the Sunderland man does really well to win a goal kick.
57 McClean is found with a decent pass out to the Sunderland left. He looks to drift inside off his wing, but Walker follows him all the way. The Black Cats winger is unable to get a shot away.
56 Head tennis in midfield. Spurs eventually get the ball on the deck. They move it side to side, with Sunderland organised at the back.
55 Modric almost slips past Colback. He could be the man to open things up. So could Bale, as he breaks to the by-line. He cuts the ball back to Modric, who back-heels to Van der Vaart. He fires high over the top with his right foot.
54 Larsson hammers the ball high into the Spurs box, but there is no-one in a red and white shirt anywhere near the penalty area. A lack of quality is holding both sides back. We need a spark from somewhere.
53 Gallas goes over the top of the ball and catches Gardner on the ankle. Again no card. Gallas even complains about the awarding of a free-kick! What a waste from the Black Cats as they knock the set-piece straight out of play.
52 Space for Van der Vaart, but he can't gather the ball in. Sandro then shows a heavy first touch to surrender possession. Sunderland unable to clear their lines. Sandro with a half-volley which Gardner has to throw himself in front of.
51 A poor cross from Bardsley hits Sandro and runs behind for a corner. The delivery from McClean is long to the back post. Bendtner does well to get a foot to the ball, but he can't turn it back across the face of goal.
50 The ball slips under Sandro's foot and is picked up by Bendtner. He is sent to ground by Spurs' Brazilian midfielder, but gets nothing. Spurs once again see a slow counter break down.
49 McClean unable to hook the ball on into the path of a smart break from Colback. The home support are trying to get excited, but they haven't seen anything as yet to really get them off their seat.
48 If things stay like this for much longer I imagine both managers will mix things up. Spurs have the likes of Defoe, Lennon and Saha on the bench, while Sunderland can call on Richardson, Vaughan or Ji.
47 Larsson trips Bale, but still no cards shown by Chris Foy. Sunderland looking to press higher up the field, with Spurs wanting so long on the ball to get things going.
46 Gallas hacks forward towards no-one, allowing Kilgallon to head clear. McClean taks over for Sunderland his scuffed cross finds Sessegnon. His poked effort hits Kaboul.
Tottenham get the second half underway, with no changes made by either side at the break.
The players are back with us and we are ready for the second half. Here's hoping things improve after the interval.
Mbajah says: "Second half will be about risk taking for both teams as Tottenham would want to keep that pace on Arsenal I guess that's pressure. And that's where Sunderland will win with ease. Don't be surprised."
Laughton Mills says: "The lack of atmosphere may be down to the fact that 90% of the Sunderland fans are still hungover from the bank holiday all day session yesterday. A late Sessengnon screamer will awaken the hoardes of Mackems from their stooper. 1-0 the lads, but it's gonna be tight."
Remember you can also bet in-play at skybet.com. Sunderland are now 3/1 to take the spoils, with Spurs 11/8 and the draw also 11/8. You can get 5/2 on the game ending 0-0.

Sunderland 0 Tottenham 0. All square at the interval. Defences well very much on top, with chances few and far between. Sunderland have been solid, Tottenham have lacked creativity.
45+1 Bale sees an ambitious shot from distance well blocked. Assou-Ekotto then feeds in three quick crosses, but Sunderland deal with them all.
One minute of stoppage time to be played.
45 Spurs happy to keep the ball and wait for gaps to appear. Patience the order of the day. They need to raise the tempo slightly, though, as they are allowing Sunderland to get set.
44 No width for Tottenham as Bale and Van der Vaart almost run into each other in midfield. Spurs are able to fashion an opening, though, and Kilgallon does well to get his body in front of a shot from Van der Vaart.
43 Redknapp out on the touchline calling for movement from his side. They are still seeing a lot of the ball, but aren't really doing anything with it. As I say that, Assou-Ekotto whips a cross onto the boot of Turner. Not good enough.
42 Larsson tries again and this time picks out Bendtner. He has to move away from goal to get a head to the ball and can't turn it back towards the target, Friedel watches the effort sail into the stands.
41 Assou-Ekotto fells Sessegnon. Free-kick to Sunderland wide on their right and in a promising position. Larsson with a great delivery, which Turner throws himself at but Kaboul gets the final touch to send the ball over the crossbar.
40 McClean teases his way past Walker and drills the ball in low. Sessegnon is unable to collect as he stands with his back to goal six yards out. Had his first touch been better, he could have spun and shot.
39 Adebayor does well to win a free-kick off Gardner after dropping short to collect the ball. Bale ends up in possession, but his cross is not the best and easily nodded to safety by Kilgallon.
38 Parker pulled up for a tug on Sessegnon's shirt. The Black Cats opt against sending the ball long. They work it to Bardsley, who tries to feed a pass into the path of Bendtner but gets too much on it.
37 Modric floats the ball into the box, where it is cleared to Sandro. He crosses, but again Sunderland stand firm. The ball is hammered clear and runs through to Friedel.
36 Neither side able to get the ball on the deck. Sandro finally does and is blocked off as he tries to brush past Colback. Free-kick to Spurs, which they play short and across the field to Bale. He combines with Modric, who is tripped.
35 The set-piece is played out to Bardsley. His cross is met by Gardner, but his header lacks power and never troubles Friedel. Sandro leads a Spurs counter, but ends up running out of pitch.
34 Two corners in quick succession for the hosts. The second is played short to McClean, who fires the ball in low. Handball shouts go up, but are waved away. Bendtner is then inches away from connecting with the ball from six yards out.
33 Sessesgnon believes Sandro has stopped him from springing clear, but he is waved to his feet. Bendtner then delivers from the left towards Larsson. He shapes for a volley, but sees Assou-Ekotto get there first.
32 Van der Vaart fires the ball goalwards from a long way out. A bending delivery gets a slight touch off Gardner before dropping inches wide of the upright. Van der Vaart's corner is easily dealt with.
31 Cattermole, unsurprisingly, is putting himself about in the middle of the park. He concedes another free-kick after clattering into Sandro. He gets a talking to but avoids a caution.
30 Colback fires a free-kick long towards Bendtner, who is beaten in the air by Kaboul. Larsson then slips through the middle of two defenders, but can't play a square pass to Sessegnon without giving the ball away.
29 Sunderland still sitting too deep when Spurs have the ball. They only press once the visitors cross halfway. Cattermole then fouls Parker, but Spurs waste the free-kick by playing it straight out for a throw. All a bit scrappy at the moment.
28 Adebayor pulls the ball down on the edge of the area, but is adjudged to have used his arm. He wasn't in on goal, but he might have been able to get a shot away. He disagrees with Chris Foy's decision.
27 Mignolet comes through the crowd to get a strong hand to Van der Vaart's delivery. The Spurs man is then unable to get the ball past the first man when it is returned to him wide on Spurs' right.
26 Larsson tries again, but he can only pick out the head of Kaboul. Spurs look to surge forward. A loose ball falls to Parker, who sees an ambitious effort from 30 yards cannon behind for a corner.
25 Larsson with a dangerous delivery into the heart of the box. A group of bodies rise, and Sunderland win a corner. They immediately win a second as Friedel tips over the top.
24 McClean with a great first touch to take him past Walker. The Spurs full-back knows he is in trouble and hacks the Sunderland winger down. Lucky to escape a caution.
23 Smart challenge from Turner on Adebayor. He was shaping to shoot on the edge of the box, with his sights set on the top corner. Sunderland look to edge forward and Kaboul comes through the back of Bendtner with a clumsy challenge.
22 Bendtner catches Parker late. The Spurs skipper doesn't complain and bounces back to his feet. Great to see. Van der Vaart whips the free-kick into the box, but Turner is able to clear for Sunderland.
21 One-two between Van der Vaart and Adebayor. The ball is then worked out to Walker, who sends a high cross to the back post. He gets too much on the delivery and Bale can do nothing with it.
20 Sessegnon does well to get across Gallas and meet a low cross from Bardsley. He can't turn the ball goalwards and the ball ends up well wide of the target. Better from the hosts as they moved the ball well.
19 Parker gives the ball straight to Cattermole. He finds Sessegnon, who looks to move through the gears. He is stopped in his tracks and Larsson can't hang a cross into the middle.
18 Sandro drifts between Sunderland defenders. He tries to feed the ball into the middle, but Cattermole knocks the ball behind for a corner. Mignolet gets caught under Van der Vaart's delivery and sees the ball slip wide of the back post.
17 Modric back on the ball and he seems to have run off his knock. He spreads the ball wide towards Assou-Ekotto, but Bardsley climbs highest to nod out for a throw.
16 McClean with a burst in behind Walker. He has to cross first time, and Gallas does really well to get across and deflect the ball behind for a corner. Friedel juggles the delivery, but eventually clings on.
15 Modric is limping slightly. Only a knock by the looks of things and he should be okay to continue. Bendtner wins a towering flick-on for the hosts, but has no-one running off him.
14 Not too many appeals from Spurs there, which is odd. Game continues with Sessegnon unable to find away past Parker. The Spurs midfielder is keeping a close eye on the Black Cats' dangerman.
13 Walker sent tumbling by McClean as he races down the Spurs right. Chance to load the box. Van der Vaart's delivery picks out Adebayor, but his header hits Bardsley. It hit his arm and he is perhaps fortunate not to concede a penalty.
12 Bale with a dart for the by-line. His cross is cut out at source by Bardsley. Sunderland then pick Sandro's pocket and look to spring clear. The move breaks down as a pass towards McClean is over hit.
11 Van der Vaart and Modric combine on the edge of the box. The latter gets a slice of luck as the ball breaks his way. His low shot is hit well enough, but is straight down the throat of Mignolet.
10 Poor touch from Assou-Ekotto, but his long ball down the left has to be put out by Gardner. Spurs waste the opportunity as Modric gets the ball caught under his feet and a wild cross from Assou-Ekotto rolls along the ground to Cattermole.
9 Spurs make a meal of clearing their lines, trying to be too clever. They are let off the hook as Bardsley dives into a challenge on Bale. He was fortunate the Tottenham winger jumped out of the way.
8 Time and space for Gardner 30 yards from goal. He is able to set himself and take a look up, but he gets his shot all wrong and slices badly wide of the target. He is mush better than that from distance.
7 Long, aimles ball forward from Colback gives Bendtner no chance. Friedel gathers with ease. Better from the hosts as they then try to press Spurs inside their own half.
6 Cattermole shows good strength to hold off Sandro. Gardner then looks to break through the middle, but stands in the ball. Bale fires a cross to the edge of the area, which Adebayor steps over. Modric can't gather as he breaks from deep.
5 Sunderland yet to force their way into the final third. Spurs looking very comfortable, and confident. They look like they will be seeing plenty of the ball this afternoon.
4 Gardner with a sloppy pass in midfield. Spurs get Bale on the ball, but wide on their right. He never looks comfortable going down the line and ends up losing out to Colback. Assou-Ekotto then tries his luck from distance and sends a 25-yard drive skidding narrowly past the post.
3 Adebayor with more good hold-up play for the visitors. Sunderland snapping at Spurs' heels, not allowing them any room on the edge of the box. In the end Tottenham are forced backwards, all the way to Friedel. Solid from the hosts.
2 Adebayor able to spin into space, but Sunderland get men back quickly to plug their defensive gaps. The Black Cats are happy to let Spurs have the ball on halfway and try to pick their way through.
1 Tottenham quickly slip into their passing game. In the end they try too much and the hosts get a turn to play keep-ball. Great noise from the stands early doors.
Sunderland get us up and running in the Wearside sunshine.
The players take to the field. Decent crowd inside the ground and that should make for a lively atmosphere.
The teams are in the tunnel and we are almost ready for the off. We will have to leave the feedback there for now. There will be further opportunities to have your say at half-time and at the final whistle.
David Pennell sees Spurs edging this and cementing their top-four standing. He says: "Tottenham, playing away, will feel they need an early advantage and attack to try and get an early goal, but make things difficult and end up conceding a goal themselves. Tottenham will strike back and at half time it will be 1-1. Tough team talks off the managers will lead to an exciting second half, and Sunderland may get overly aggresive as they try to score, which could result in a sending off. Tottenham will respond quickly and get the win 2-1."
Charlie is another backing the Black Cats to take the spoils this afternoon. He says: "Sunderland played brilliantly against Man City last weekend, they were unlucky to only come away with a point, so I think they will take that performance into today's game and really take the game to Tottenham. I think they will win 2-0, with Bendtner and Larsson scoring the goals."
Scott reckons the hosts can pick up three hard-fought points. He says: "Never have I wanted Sunderland to win but I reckon they will beat Spurs today. Close game and a bit messy. A sending off and many yellows as Spurs push to keep Champs Lge position. 2-1 home win for me though."
Jon Saunders is another who sees us ending in stalemate this afternoon. He says: "Think Spurs have set up with a look at keeping it tight until last 20 with Lennon coming on. Can see a draw incoming."
Jeff is the first to get in touch, and admits he would be happy to see this end all square. He says: "Have to say it is a very strong Spurs line up & I think they will have the edge of Sunderland today. I will be happy with a point against Spurs today, but if we apply ourselves like we did at The Etihad last week then there is no reason why we can't claim all 3 points. Too close to call this one, but I will probably go for a 2-2 draw."
Today's referee is Chris Foy.
Tottenham team: Friedel, Walker, Gallas, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto, Parker, Modric, Sandro, Van der Vaart, Adebayor, Bale. Subs: Cudicini, Nelsen, Kranjcar, Lennon, Livermore, Defoe, Saha.

You can also bet in-play throught the game at skybet.com. Sunderland start as outsiders to pick up the points at 12/5, with Tottenham 11/10 and the draw 12/5. You can get 7/1 on Nicklas Bendtner to open the scoring, or maybe you fancy Emmanuel Adebayor at 11/2.
Will Sunderland previal on home soil or will Spurs enjoy a productive trip to the North East? Who will be the men to keep an eye on? Let me know your thoughts.

Spurs continue to occupy a standing inside the top four, but saw Newcastle close to within two points on Friday and know they have little margin for error.
Heading into a busy Easter weekend, the Black Cats find themselves inside the Premier League's top-half and buoyed by an impressive showing at title-chasing Manchester City last time out.
