With only 14 days left before "The Hunger Games" hits theaters, there's plenty of stuff happening to keep us excited! This week we've seen a new TV spot, a behind-the-scenes video of Josh Hutcherson during his "Teen Vogue" photo shoot, and we're brushing up on all the lingo we won't miss a beat when the movie premieres. All this and more, after the jump!
CLIPS
.
There's a mish-mash of clips in the new TV promo that came out this week. There are even a couple of new scenes that we haven't seen before in this one. If you haven't seen it during your TV time this week (and even if you have), it's definitely worth watching.
.
.
Okay gilrs, pay attention. We'll follow that up with this clip of Josh Hutcherson behind-the-scenes during his photo shoot for "Teen Vogue" magazine. You'll learn some interesting tidbits about Hutcherson during this clip, including the fact that he never went to his prom! Can you imagine that? I'm sure he could find a few fans willing to take him now.

"Hunger Games" in L.A.
.
Fans started lining up just after midnight on Tuesday morning in Los Angeles at Westfield Century City. What was the occasion? Nothing less than "The Hunger Games" coming to L.A. with a dance contest, new swag (including new posters), oh yeah, the cast was there too!
.
Over 200 "tributes" showed up to take part in the event. KIIS FM showed up to run the dance contests. During each dance session, winners were selected and received a special orange bracelet that would allow them to go backstage for a meet-and-greet with Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. Around 40 wristbands were given away total.
.
After the dance party was over and the winners got to meet the cast, the cast came out on stage and shared some of their experiences during the making of the movie with the audience. You can catch more info over on Moviefone.

The "Hunger Games" Glossary

Lionsgate
.
Now it's time to brush up on "The Hunger Games" lingo so you don't get lost in the crowd on opening night. If you're already familiar with the book, just think of this as a refresher course. There's a pretty good list over on NextMovie, but here are the ones I found the most interesting. Now we can all sit around and shoot the breeze like escorts. What do you say?
.
Avox: A person who has been convicted of treason against The Capitol and subsequently punished by forcible removal of his or her tongue.
.
Hob: A black market trading facility in District 12 wherein goods (both legal and illegal) are bartered.
.
Muttation: Capitol-constructed animal monsters which have sharp claws and teeth as well as characteristics which resemble human beings, such as eyes and coloring.
.
Tracker Jackers: Poisonous wasp-like bugs designed by the Capitol. They nest in trees and their stinger venom can cause hallucinations and even death in certain doses.

The Capitol Goes Online
.
Sheesh! If I didn't know any better, I'd say the Capitol is out to get people. Now, it's your chance to visit the Capitol. A new website was launched this week, TheCapitol.pn. The site contains a countdown ticker to the 74th Annual Hunger Games. It also reminds us that, as citizens, it is our duty to keep our District Identification Passes up to date. Go register and see what happens. Maybe you'll get picked for next year's games.
