Today, the #11 North Carolina State. Wolfpack will face the #3 Georgetown Hoyas at 12:15 P.M. at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio on CBS for the right to go to the Sweet Sixteen. The Hoyas are coming off a 15-point blow out of Belmont in the first real round of the tournament. Despite being ranked third in the Midwest bracket, a lot of people picked #14 Belmont to escape the game with a victory, but Georgetown showed why they are the 3 seed in a big win.
N.C. State on the other hand is coming off a solid win over the sixth ranked San Diego State Aztecs. They upset the Aztecs by 14 points in a 79-65 game, earning the right to now face Georgetown. The Wolfpack proved they could hang with the higher ranked teams last week and they'll have to do it again now for the right to advance.

A very athletic but small SDSU team had trouble dealing with the size of Richard Howell and C.J. Leslie inside. NC State won't have that same kind of major matchup advantage against Georgetown, so they're going to need to make outside shots and make their free throws at a higher clip than they did in the first round.
As good as Georgetown looked, Friday's performance probably wasn't their ceiling. Everyone played very well on the offensive end except for Hollis Thompson, who has nowhere to go but up. If he raises his game while the his teammates maintain their high levels of play, NC State will struggle to find an answer.
The winner of this game will go on to face the winner of the matchup between Purdue and Kansas in the Sweet Sixteen.
