Post-game notes: Swish, Grandy OK; Romine? Not OK - ESPN (blog)

The Yankees got good news about both Nick Swisher, who has been sidelined with a groin injury, and Curtis Granderson, whose sore right elbow was MRI-ed this morning. Both are well on the road to recovery -- Swisher got 10 at-bats (that's right) in a minor-league game back in Tampa, and went 4-for-8 with a home run. Joe Girardi said he will do the same thing Thursday -- minus an AB or two -- with an eye on returning to the lineup this weekend. Granderson's MRI came back negative and he is listed as day-to-day, but Girardi said he could return to action as soon as Thursday's home game against the Orioles.

Austin Romine, on the other hand? Not so good. The catcher suffered "a setback'' in his recovery from the back woes that have troubled him all spring, and according to Girardi, what had started as "soreness'' in his lower back has progressed to "a pinch,'' raising the troubling specter of a disk problem. "He doesn't feel great,'' Girardi said.

Romine's injury may well be the reason the Yankees scooped Craig Tatum off the waiver wire today from Arizona.
