Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby twice has mentioned the possibility of a return on Sunday.

Sidney Crosby will wait until Saturday before deciding whether he'll play in a nationally televised game on Sunday.

But Friday, he said he wanted to wait a day before deciding.

"Just the way the schedule has worked out, I haven't really tested things as best as I'd like," he told reporters in Pittsburgh, according to the Penguins' website. "The good thing is that even after the minimal bumping I've kind of done, it's been good."

Crosby said he has had no return of the concussion symptoms that occurred after a Dec. 5 game.

"Everything has been good, but like I said, I don't think I've really tested it a ton," he said. "That will be something we talk about and figure out and see what makes sense. Before all those conversations, you've got to make sure you get through it, No. 1. That's the most important thing."

Crosby, who has played eight games since a January 2011 concussion, was cleared for contact on March 6. He said that day that he'd return no sooner than Sunday, and he repeated Sunday as a possibility the next night during a televised interview with NBC's Pierre McGuire.

Sunday is a nationally televised afternoon home game against the defending champion Boston Bruins. Crosby was playing the Bruins on Dec. 5 when he was hit by David Krejci and was involved in a collision with teammate Chris Kunitz.

After Sunday, the Penguins embark on a three-game trip, starting Thursday at the first-place New York Rangers.

Meanwhile, the Penguins' website said that defenseman Kris Letang skated before the Penguins' practice. He has missed three games with concussion symptoms after being hit by Dallas Stars forward Eric Nystrom.

Also, Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson will return Friday night after missing 13 of the last 14 games with a concussion.

Team captain Jonathan Toews practiced with the team Friday for the first time since suffering an upper-body injury that has been widely reported as a concussion. He has missed eight games.
