The surprising Cincinnati Bearcats and the second ranked Syracuse University Orange face off today in the semi final round of the Big East Tournament at the World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. The winner will advance to the championship game of the Big East tournament on Saturday.

Both Cincinnati and Syracuse are firmly in the NCAA tournament, so while this game isn't entirely for show, it wouldn't be too surprising to see the Big East semifinal match start out a little bit slow. Cincinnati presumably has more to play for, since Syracuse has assured itself a number one seed in the Big Dance thanks to its win over Connecticut on Thursday afternoon.
The NCAA tournament starts on Tuesday of next week with preliminary games in Dayton, Ohio. The real tournament starts on Thursday at lunch time. The top seeds in the NCAA tournament are likely to be Syracuse, Kentucky, North Carolina and Kansas.
The winner will advance to the championship game on Saturday.

The 23rd-ranked Fighting Irish capped a hectic Thursday by outlasting South Florida 57-53 in a game that went to overtime and ended just before midnight. Hours earlier, Yancy Gates and the Bearcats got past No. 13 Georgetown 72-70 in double OT.
